Our brand new President and CEO Gail J McGovern was on the job for 5 days before we stuck her on a plane to China to visit those affected by the earthquake.
Actually, it was USAID that took her and Senior Vice President for International Services David Meltzer along with a delegation of 30 other leaders of business, [...]

What’s the first word that pops into your head when you hear NASCAR?
For me, it’s not speed or noise or firesuits or even mullets.
It’s blood*.
That’s because the Red Cross has a car in the race – Number 16 Ford Fusion driven by Greg Biffle – inspiring you to donate blood and win prizes!
Watch Greg and the Red Cross paint [...]

Tonight NBC debuts Celebrity Family Feud.
Playing for the American Red Cross are Raven-Symone and Vivica A. Fox.
Some of us at headquarters will be taking a little break to watch together. We encourage you to do the same (right after you click on that Donate Now button to help those affected by the recent storms).

Last week we told the world that the Disaster Relief Fund is running on empty.

Busy times here at Red Cross headquarters while we try to both anticipate and respond to the flooding throughout the central United States. Keep your RSS dial tuned to the Online Newsroom for continual updates.
I heard Matt Lauer this morning describe the flooding as a slow monster, which seems about right.
We need your help. More specifically, [...]

Happy Father’s Day to all you dads out there.
We have lots of volunteer dads helping those affected by the flooding and tornadoes throughout the central United States
(with 1100 Red Cross workers and over 900 of them volunteers, of course there are lots of dads out there).
One of them, Larry Fortmiller from California, describes why he’s [...]
