Your Photos: Water Main Break in Manhattan

West 10th Flood: Red Cross Blanket

Last week, a water main in Manhattan’s West Village broke. It caused flooding and forced resident evacuation.

The American Red Cross in Greater New York responded with supplies and support.

This young girl got a blanket and some shoes to keep her warm, and her dad posted a photo of her all tricked out in Red Cross comfort to Flickr.

We’ve reproduced it here with his permission.

  1. The Red Cross was definitely there for us in New York on the night of the water main break. My daughter still sleeps in her Red Cross blanket.
