Help Us Help People Affected By Disasters

Busy times here at Red Cross headquarters while we try to both anticipate and respond to the flooding throughout the central United States.  Keep your RSS dial tuned to the Online Newsroom for continual updates.

I heard Matt Lauer this morning describe the flooding as a slow monster, which seems about right.

We need your help. More specifically, the people who are affected by disasters like the recent floods need your help.

As Tom Cruise said in Jerry Maguire,

Help me help you

For us it’s more like,

Help us help them.

Shortly we’re going to post a piece that explains the process of responding to a disaster, but for now I want to take a moment to thank all the people who have talked about and written about our Online Newsroom effort. You all have really helped us and those affected.
