Gail J. McGovern: First day on the job
Posted on June 24th, 2008 by Wendy Harman
Yesterday morning we welcomed Gail J. McGovern into the Red Cross family with a meet and greet in our headquarter’s atrium.
We covered the announcement of her hiring fairly extensively here and all the same impressions of her hold true. I watched her get whisked away in mid-conversation with members of the rank & file but before leaving she said,
“I will be right back. Don’t move from this spot. I want to finish our conversation.”
Then I watched her come right back to that spot. Not a huge deal, but it indicates that on top of her qualifications for the job she also possesses respect for other people and integrity. We like that.
