Introducing Red Cross Avatars for Your Social Networking Pleasure
Posted on July 17th, 2008 by Wendy Harman
A few weeks ago Twitter user Lauren Beyer suggested we provide avatars/icons for our social networking volunteers to show their affiliations. Great idea, right?
Before you even ask, we’ll be adding some girl versions soon. What other kinds of avatars would you like to use to show your Red Cross love?
In the meantime, you can start the right-click, save as motion on the ones below.

How about some PNG versions, with transparency around the image and text?
I’ll pass that along to designer John Rodgers. We’re going to post them to RCO for download and we’ll have those available.
Thanks, Ike!
These are great! Thanks for taking a simple idea and making it happen. My only suggestions would be to make the icons themselves a bit bigger (Twitter resizes, as do other profile sites) to make them easier to read any text that is on there. Also, I’d love to have sidebar badges to put into a blog, Facebook page or profiles.
Can’t to see what the girl versions look like!
I want one that gives a shout to our employees!

Hello, Wendy. Thanks for the tweet about the avatars. Ping me this week about how we can coordinate another blood drive with an even wider reach. This is great stuff.
