Tomorrow, 9.19.08, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) has issued a roadblock encouraging radio stations to simultaneously air public service advertising in support of the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
We’re asking you to join the radio stations by displaying your support online all day tomorrow.
You can choose any of the following tools or any that you create to show your support:
Change the Avatar/Icon on your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc to a Red Cross Avatar:

Display a Red Cross Banner on your site:

Embed a Red Cross PSA on your site, Facebook page, etc.
Display a video shot during the Response effort to Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.
Embed a widget on your site, Facebook page, etc:
Pass the word about Text 2Help.
You can text the word “GIVE” to 24357 (2Help) to donate $5 to the Disaster Relief Fund.
Let us know if you’re participating in the comments!
We thank you and the victims of disasters like the recent hurricanes thank you.

We at the St. Louis are so excited to be a part of the social media push. We have had our field volunteers blogging and twittering and we are starting to see the comments come in from our site visitors. We have our own local widget in place on our site and have included the Text2Help pieces as well as a disaster resources page with links to all of the great online resources provided at the National level. This is such a good way to communicate quickly with our constituents who make the web such a part of their daily life! Thanks to all of you out there who help to spread the Red Cross message each and every day.

Oh… and tons of local “Ride for the Red” stuff on the wiki for the high school community service club I sponsor.
