I hope you had a relaxing Memorial Day of family and pasta salad and sunshine. For actually being in a war zone, I had an extremely uneventful day of remembrance, but I did want to share with you the pictures from our much anticipated Pool Party with Boe, the Combat Stress Dog.

We held the party this past Saturday the 23rd and it essentially turned into a going away party for Boe as she and her handler redeploy to the United States in the coming days. I think by advertising the event as one’s last chance to see Boe, we got a greater crowd than we would have because it was 108 degree on Saturday!

Nevertheless, we had a fantastic turn out, at least 50 people over the course of an hour and a half and everyone seemed to genuinely enjoy themselves. Boe was the highlight of the party, eating handouts from all the guests, the popsicles disappeared, the desserts melted, a water gun fight broke out between the Air Force and the Army and I got sun burned even wearing my baseball cap.
