President & CEO Gail McGovern Giving National Press Club Speech Today

UPDATE: Remarks as prepared

Our President and CEO Gail McGovern (you’ve seen a couple of blog posts from her right here – hopefully more to come soon!) is giving a speech at 1pm EDT today.

We’ll get snippets of the speech up ASAP, but in the meantime you can follow @infobabe on Twitter (it’s Laura Howe, our Senior Director of Public Affairs) as she livetweets the speech. We hear you’ll also be able to listen on CSPAN.org – click “Live TV/Radio”.

We’ll also be posting the prepared remarks on redcross.org momentarily.

In the meantime, I’ll liveblog a bit of it. If you have any questions for Gail, leave them in the comments and I’ll do my best to get her to answer in a future post.

Gail offers 5 ways nonprofits can navigate these tough economic times:

1. Maintain a manical focus on your mission

2. Must be even better stewards of your donors’ dollars

3. You have to find new ways to raise money and engage donors

4. You have to embrace new tools

5. Keep looking to the horizon
