We’re one of the founding partners of #GivingTuesday. We are really excited about the idea of creating a holiday out of philanthropic giving. We made a plan, had a bunch of meetings, engaged our corporate partners. Then, Hurricane Sandy happened.
We are incredibly grateful for your support. We still have a large relief operation ongoing in New Jersey and New York, but we began to feel a little strange about doing a big fundraising push when you’ve given so generously for Sandy.
So, we’re going to use this day to try to give back to you a little. We want to say thank you. Thank you to all who gave. Thank you to all who volunteered and are still volunteering. Thank you to all who give blood. Thank you to all who text REDCROSS to 90999. Thank you to all who make a preparedness plan. Thank you to all who who give in many ways – not just on this Tuesday, but everyday.
