Congratulations Gail,

I work with the Red Cross here in Collier County as a volunteer. I'm sure you will bring the intensity, focus, humor and success that has been your hallmark everywhere you have chosen to contribute.

Dear Friends

We value organisation like the Red Cross and other NGO's are actively involved in helping people and to save the lives of many people of Myanmar affected by the cyclone. We cannot be there physically to offer the help, but I would encourage everyone to donate generously to the many respectable organisation like the Red Cross, Salvation Army, World Vision and others.

Funds are required to supply food, fresh water, clothings, shelter, medicine, etc. I believe it is going to take a long time to rebuild the lives of the 1 million people made homeless. It is believed about 100,000 people have died... It means many have lost their parents and become orphans.

There is a big need... be generous and help our Myanmar friends.

I am located in Thailand at the moment and trying to figure out any information on helping out with the relief efforts in Myanmar. What is the best way to go about this process.
Thank you

For inquiries about relatives living in Myanmar who are citizens of Myanmar, we encourage the members of your community to keep calling or to try contacting other family members who live nearby.

Inquiries concerning U.S. citizens living or traveling in Myanmar should be referred to the U.S. Department of State, Office of Overseas Citizens Services, at 1-888-407-4747 or 202 647-5225.

This disaster is truly catastrophic and our heart goes out to families and loved ones affected by the cyclone.
