At 2:30 a.m. Joe gets the call – there’s a house fire in Mt. Holly. He does what he can to wake himself up, grabs his gear and off he goes. Joe arrives on the scene and sees the mobile home is completely lost to the fire; nothing can be saved. While you may think Joe’s gear is a jumpsuit, a helmet and a mask, he’s actually the local American Red Cross volunteer who helps provide temporary shelter, food and—equally important—comfort to a family in shock.
